Be sure to order your basic utilities to be turned on the day before you close of escrow date or the day before your lease begins. You will not have to be at the property for the utilities to be turned over in to your name. Turning them on 1 day early will assure you will have running water, electricity, and gas during your move!
Auxiliary utilities, such as cable and phone, should be ordered to be turned on after your close/move in date since you may have to be at the home for them to be turned on.
You will need to CALL the majority of cities in the Phoenix area to have water/sewer/trash service started. It is best to call between 8am -4pm Monday through Friday.
